Who owns Genting Casino?

The short answer

Genting's UK casinos are run by Genting Casinos UK Limited, Gambling Commission account 537, owned by Genting UK plc. The website gentingcasino.com is not: it is operated by Skill On Net Limited of Malta and listed as a White Label on Skill On Net's account 39326 — even though Genting's own account has held an active remote casino licence since January 2010 and registers no website at all.

Two companies behind one name

Most confusion about Genting comes from treating the casinos and the website as one business. On the register they are two licensees in two countries, and which one you are dealing with decides who handles your money, your complaint and your self-exclusion.

The website is careful about the line. Its footer states that all UK land-based Genting operations are owned and managed by Genting Casinos UK Limited, and says nothing about who runs the site you are reading; that name is in the terms of use. The Genting Casino review covers the website itself — its offer, its Members' Club and the 6 other casinos we have reviewed on the same licence — and the Skill On Net network page covers the operator behind it.

The online licence with no website on it

Account 537 is not a land-based-only licence, which is what almost every description of Genting's online set-up assumes. It carries 4 remote activities, the remote casino licence among them since 8 January 2010. On 30 January 2026 the company added general betting, both in its venues and remotely on real events — the first new activity on the account since 2017. Against all of that, the register lists no domain names.

We cannot tell you why a company with a remote casino licence routes its brand through someone else's. What the register does show is the consequence: a player at gentingcasino.com contracts with a Malta platform operator, and the British company in the adverts is not a party to that account.

Nine trading names, one website

The register lets a licensee record the names it trades under, and lists that are read as brand portfolios are how Crockfords and Resorts World end up described as online casinos elsewhere. Here is what each name on account 537 actually is, read off the premises list and the group's own venue site.

Correction to what this site said before

Until 19 September 2026 this site carried a “Genting Casino Group” card listing six brands, with Crockfords and Resorts World shown as online casinos with their own welcome offers, monthly player numbers, a 21-minute average payout and trust, security and payout scores of 88, 91 and 84. None of that was sourced, and the register contradicts the core of it: Genting's licence carries no website, and neither Crockfords nor Resorts World trades online.

The same day, the Genting Casino review was corrected on two points: it had read the Stratford licence surrender as a closure, and it had said no action against Skill On Net was on record.

How the casinos send players to someone else's website

The two businesses are separate on paper and tightly joined in practice, and the join is visible in the page source of Genting's own venue site.

  • Tracked links. gentingcasinos.co.uk sends visitors to the online casino through links carrying tracking parameters — three to gentingcasino.com/?BT=GENT1&ar=10039033 and one to gentingcasino.com/?ar=10037516. The links record where a player came from. What they pay, if anything, is not published.
  • Venue-branded offers. The venue pages promote a “Colony Club Welcome Offer at GentingCasino.com” — a Mayfair club on Genting's licence advertising a sign-up on Skill On Net's.
  • Tables streamed from the buildings. Genting Live, on the website, streams roulette from five of the group's own casinos, and names Resorts World Birmingham, the Palm Beach in Mayfair and Genting Casino Manchester. In 2019 Genting paid €15 million for Authentic Gaming, a developer of in-club streaming, to “bring together its offline and online casino experiences”. Whether Genting Live runs on Authentic's technology is not stated.

How many Genting casinos are there in the UK?

It depends which list you count, and the three available figures disagree for reasons worth knowing. The register lists 51 premises for account 537, but at only 40 distinct postcodes: several venues are entered twice under different names — Genting Casino Luton and Genting Electric Luton share an address on Skimpot Road, as do the two Glasgow entries on Sauchiehall Street — and one entry is a garage in Birkenhead. The venue website lists 26 locations. And in August 2022, announcing its purchase of Casino 36, the group put its own figure at 35 casinos.

The estate has grown since then rather than shrunk. Aspers Stratford, inside Westfield Stratford City and described by Genting as one of the UK's largest casinos, was bought in 2025 and reopened as Genting Casino Stratford that June. The company that held its licences, Genting Casino Stratford Limited (account 26947), surrendered all 7 of its licence activities on 11 February 2026 — including a remote casino licence dating from 2014 — and the venue now appears as a premises on account 537. It is a consolidation, not a closure.

What the split means if you play

If you want to stop gambling at both

You need two registrations. GAMSTOP and the website's own self-exclusion cover online gambling. Genting's venues, like every licensed casino in Great Britain, use SENSE, the national land-based scheme, which runs for a minimum of six months. Neither scheme reaches the other.

If you have a complaint about the website

Your account is with Skill On Net Limited, so the complaint goes to it and then to the independent dispute service its terms name — not to Genting Casinos UK. The Genting Casino review sets out that route.

If you want to know who holds your balance

The website operator. A balance at gentingcasino.com is held by Skill On Net Limited under its licence, and a Genting casino venue cannot see it or pay it out.

If you are a member at both

The venue loyalty scheme and the website's Members' Club are marketed separately, and nothing we read links points or status between them. Treat them as two schemes until either side says otherwise.

Regulatory record

Genting Casinos UK Limited: the register's regulatory-actions tab reads “No regulatory actions have been recorded for this business.” A search of the Commission's site found no enforcement announcement naming the company either. That covers the venues.

Skill On Net Limited: on 23 May 2023 the Commission announced a £305,150 settlement for social responsibility and anti-money-laundering failures, all of it directed to socially responsible causes. Trade reporting of the statement names gentingcasino.com among the operator's white-label sites. Account 39326's own actions tab shows nothing, which is why a register-only check misses it — this site's Genting review made exactly that mistake until 19 September 2026.

Questions about Genting's ownership

Who owns Genting Casino?

The casinos are owned and run by Genting Casinos UK Limited (company 01519689, Gambling Commission account 537), which Companies House lists as controlled by Genting UK plc. The website gentingcasino.com is a different matter: it is operated by Skill On Net Limited, a Malta company, and listed as a White Label on Skill On Net's account 39326.

Is gentingcasino.com run by Genting?

It carries Genting's name, but the operator is Skill On Net Limited. The site's own terms say it "is operated by Skill On Net Limited", and the register lists gentingcasino.com on account 39326, not on Genting's account 537. The site's footer names Genting Casinos UK only for the land-based casinos.

Does Genting have an online casino licence?

Yes. Account 537 has held an Active remote casino licence, 000537-R-103205-032, since 8 January 2010, and added a remote real-event betting activity on 30 January 2026. It registers no website against that licence.

Are Crockfords and Resorts World online casinos?

No. Both are trading names on Genting's licence for land-based casinos, and neither has a website registered anywhere on the Gambling Commission register. Resorts World Casino is the casino inside Resorts World Birmingham. Crockfords is an active trading name that no premises on the register currently carries.

Does self-excluding from Genting Casino online stop me going into a Genting casino?

Not on its own. An online self-exclusion is an arrangement with the website's operator, and GAMSTOP covers online gambling only. Land-based casinos in Great Britain use a separate national scheme, SENSE, which covers every licensed casino venue for a minimum of six months. To stop both, you need both.

Has Genting been fined by the Gambling Commission?

The register records no regulatory action against Genting Casinos UK Limited. The licensee the website trades on has a record: on 23 May 2023 the Commission announced that Skill On Net Limited would pay £305,150 for social responsibility and anti-money-laundering failures.

What happened to Genting Casino Stratford?

It is open. Genting bought the casino from Aspers in 2025 and reopened it as Genting Casino Stratford in June 2025. The separate company that held its licences, Genting Casino Stratford Limited (account 26947), surrendered them on 11 February 2026, and the venue is now a premises on account 537.
